by Dante Di Stefano
You are the entire ocean in a drop,
if you are anything. There’s no bluebird
in my heart, but if there were he would perch
on a rhinoceros horn and whistle
sea chanteys to the frigate in your heart.
Dante Di Stefano is the author of Love is a Stone Endlessly in Flight (Brighthorse Books, 2016). His poetry, essays, and reviews have appeared in Brilliant Corners, The Los Angeles Review, The Writer’s Chronicle, and elsewhere. Most recently, he is the winner of the Manchester Poetry Prize and the Red Hen Press Poetry Award.
