the radio sang and well you know
the telephone rang. so much of this
living has to do with reaction &
its repetition. in fond du lac we
waited till may before bringing out
the bay leaf from our greenhouse
we dreamed of cinnamon on of our empire
apples. no. it wasn’t that. rather. a whale
un-oceaned and much to enormous
to be un-earthed: from a distance
everyone gets their own myth &
of course: we: everyone: the way
the farmed salmon gets dyed pink
so we can pretend it thrashed
its way up stream.
